Common questions

Everything you might wonder

First-time visitor? Returning client? Here's what most folks ask before booking.

What vaccines does my pet need to board or be groomed?

Dogs need to be current on Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP. We also strongly recommend monthly flea & tick prevention (required for boarding). Cats need Rabies and FVRCP. Bring records on first visit, or have your vet email/fax them to us — we'll keep a digital copy on file.

What should I bring when I drop off for boarding?

Just your pet, their food (we'll feed at 8 AM & 5 PM — or your preferred times), any medications in clearly labeled containers with instructions, and a comfort item like a blanket or toy — just nothing irreplaceable, in case it gets chewed or lost in the wash. We provide bowls, bedding, and water.

How do drop-offs and pickups work?

Drop off any time during business hours — Mon–Fri 9 AM–4:30 PM, Sat–Sun 11 AM–4:30 PM. A quick check-in form goes over feeding, meds, and contact info. For boarding, we ask for an estimated pickup window so we can prep your pet. Afternoon pickup fee is $25 (covers extra care time). After-hours pickup can be arranged — call ahead.

Do you take exotic pets — birds, reptiles, cats?

Yes! We board dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles — that's one of the things that makes us different. Bring your enclosure or carrier; we work with you on feeding schedules and habitat needs. Reach out before booking exotics so we can make sure we're set up for your specific pet.

What if my pet has medical needs or takes medication?

We administer medications by mouth, with food, or topically. Every dose is logged, timestamped, and confirmed in our system — you'll know it happened. Bring meds in original containers with clear instructions. For complex needs (insulin, post-surgery care), call us first so we can confirm we're the right fit.

Will I get updates while my pet is boarding?

Yes — we text a daily report card with a photo and a short update so you can see your pet is doing great. You can also sign in to the client portal to see report cards, grooming history, and reminders.

Do you groom every breed?

We do — and we plan for breed-specific needs. Doodles, double-coats (Huskies, Goldens, Shepherds), short coats, long coats, and cats all get tailored appointments. A Chihuahua and a Standard Poodle need completely different services; we don't lump them together.

What's your cancellation policy?

Reservations must be cancelled at least 5 days before arrival (non-holiday). Inside that window or no-shows = 50% of the booking total. Grooming: late, missed, or rescheduled appointments may be charged up to half the grooming price, because our groomer's time is still set aside. Holiday/peak periods have a 2-night minimum.

Can I tour the facility before booking?

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Drop in during business hours or call to arrange a quick tour. We'd rather show you the place than just describe it.

How do I pay?

Debit, credit, or cash at pickup. There's a 3% card surcharge (cash avoids it). We'll keep a card on file for boarding stays and for any unpaid balances. No checks or money orders.

Where are you located? Do you serve Stone Oak and Bulverde?

We're at 26256 US 281 N, San Antonio, TX 78258 — on the 281 frontage just north of Stone Oak, an easy drive from Bulverde, Timberwood Park, Encino Park, and Spring Branch. If you live anywhere along the 281 corridor north of Loop 1604, we're your neighborhood boarding and grooming spot. Get directions →

Do you board for military families — TDY, PCS, or deployment?

Yes — we're proud to serve JBSA families (Randolph, Fort Sam Houston, Lackland) and we specialize in long stays: TDY, deployments, PCS moves, and house-hunting gaps. We handle multi-week and multi-month boarding, send photo report cards while you're away, and we're one of the only facilities in San Antonio that can also board your bird or reptile during a move. Call (830) 438-7456 and ask about long-stay rates.
